Finally Flying

Despite my apprehension, Anna reached Dubai and now Anna graduated.

Yes...the ever controversial Anna is now (once again!) a toothy stewardess, this time with a red hat, no more kebaya. I attended the graduation despite having only slept two hours and despite having only returned from a long Jakarta trip and despite having to wake up at 6am to pick my mother and sister up from the Dubai airport.

Well, I did promise my presence and I promised flowers (courtesy of Emirates Towers Hotel Florist!). After all, what are friends for? :)

Yes, BanAnna...we are better off as friends....more fun like that.

Here are a handful of pics....courtesy of my Ixus digicam. More pics (Anna's digicam) can be viewed at Anna's multiply page.

Congrats, BanAnna....fly safe.

Aidilfitri 2004...what's left of it.

This is all I have.

Not much of a plethora. Not so picturesque. My cam batt went flat really quick and I didn't have the common sense to charge it. Common sense went out the window that day.

It was an easy day, though. Rainy Raya morning.

Then came the flow of relatives...aunts,uncles,cousins,in-laws. Then came the influx of food. Then I ran around nuts with my adorable little cousins under the age of 6.There was also Kak Noor's new baby girl Naila(whose pic I didn't manage to get). All of two months, complete in a tiny lemon yellow kebaya (with kain belah!) and tiny ballet pumps. She adorably showed her appreciation of her mother's milk by farting and burping delicately at the same time.Aiyoh....fair skin and light brown hair lagi....I melted into a gooey state of adoration!

Then the short jalan Raya to a few important houses. That's all. Khalas.

I think this is my last Aidilfitri with my father. He is in the final stage of his renal failure now. Almost in a coma. That's why I bothered putting up the Raya pics.I almost didn't want to.

We always almost don't want to do a lot of things. But we end up doing them anyway.Or like how I want to hate my father but I can't bring myself to do it. I'm just numb. I think I already said that.

We plan. HE decides.

Selamat Hari Raya.

Le Paris: Noir et Blanc

Since all the pics I wanna upload for Paris are up....I'll now scare the colourful public with the black and whites of my French Revolution. Yeah...yeah...Raihan was feeling Ansel Adams! So? What's life without a little retro distraction?

If you want some colour...check out the fotopost before this. Colour therapy maybe...

Raihan, Azim and our French Revolution....

So we went to Paris and I had my Pradas.

So we went to Paris and had a hearty meal of Cote de Beuf.

So we went to Paris and climbed the Tour de Eiffel.

So I went to Paris with the love of my life.

How cool is that?!

Men in Tartan Skirts..Edinburgh Festival...SCOTLAND!

Everywhere I go,in Scotland I recall the episode where Chandler and Monica stood grimacing at their window at Ross's screeching attempt to play bagpipes in preparation for their wedding and Monica asks Chandler angrily,"Why is your family Scottish?!" to which Chandler crossfires just as angrily..."Why is your family Ross?!" But...I digress....
At the time I was in Glasgow, the World Bagpipe-playing Competition was kicking off,so every corner produced adorable boys in tartan skirts....or more aptly referred to as kilts, clutching bagpipes. At the time I was in Glasgow, the Edinburgh Festival was kicking off so TEN of us, including our Scottish captain...took the one hour long train journey from Glasgow to Edinburgh. At the time I got into my hotel room after a long, tiring and so very enjoyable day...I realized I lost my staff pass. Panic set in, AED500 fined but all is well now. So in Edinburgh,I watched street performances, got to know adventurous artists and attended one play which was very...very...very good! And ate lots and lots of Scottish oatcakes..
AND I LOVE SCOTLAND....it's so beautiful....with castles and dungeons and pretty boys in sexy skirts....I mean KILTS!

Colours...

I got so much flak for my paired pink debut with Azim in Birmingham. Hey...we are quite a colourful couple, thank you very much and we do wear different shades on most days. It was just, as I've said before, his claim to prove his masculinity and sexuality by wearing pink.

And as I've said before, we are quite...quite colourful.

Birmingham....With Azim!

This Birmingham....was exactly how I wanted it to be. And the pictures of Shakespeare's artefacts? Look closer and you'll be able to read the detailing..the words and all. Better yet, make a trip to Birmingham....Madam Aljunied (my Literature teacher in Crescent Girls) would be very pleased.

Melbourne Mayhem

It was cold.It was rainy. It was weird. It was Melbourne, the Winter Version.See?
The hotel used to be a prison...somewhat like Alcatraz. But the Azim made everything warm, fuzzy and nice....

*sigh*
They could send me to volcanic craters spewing lava like red phlegm...I'd still be having the time of my life with Azim.

So...Melbourne was fun.

A day in the life of Raihan....when she's by herself!

What happens when Azim's in London this time and Raihan's home alone? Life gets mundane...monotonous...and Raihan gets super lazy and super tak kuasa.
